James and I first met October 30th, 2016 in quaint and colorful Capitola. We had lunch overlooking the cascade of ocean waves break along the shoreline. Afterwards we walked around the downtown area hand in hand. The streets were lined with children of all ages parading around in their halloween costumes. James and I stopped by the famous Thomas Kinkade art gallery and later finished the day sampling local wines. It was a perfect day full of joy, laughter, and a genuine sense of ease and excitement! That day will be forever cherished and celebrated as the best first date in history!

ENGAGEMENT STORY
The weekend started off to a great start! James picked me up for a surprise weekend getaway. I was told to have a bag packed for “warm” weather and to prepare for an exclusive reservation in SF on Friday night. Bags were packed and ready to roll! Little did I know that our reservation in SF was actually a flight to Maui! The surprise didn’t stop there…
Saturday morning we woke up to the sweet sound of the ocean waves and had breakfast overlooking the sunrise. The day was already magical. James drove us to the beach where we snorkeled the last time we were in Maui. We started walking along the beach and feelings of anticipation and joy swelled in our hearts. After walking awhile James paused and turned saying, “Are you ready for this?” I chuckled at his comment and he pulled out a speech he had prepared on one of his stationery cards. Tears welled up in both our eyes as he got down on one knee for the moment I had long been waiting for. James asked me in his strong, tender, and loving voice to marry him. I jumped up and shouted, “YES! YES! A thousand times yes!!” We embraced for the sweetest moment as a newly engaged couple and followed up with a photoshoot right there on the beach. Then we headed off to the last surprise!
Some of our closest friends had flown in from out of town to witness and celebrate this unforgettable moment with us! We tenderly snuck in through the gate of the home they were posted at and within moments our friends jumped up to surprise us with arms wide open ready to embrace us. It was the most heartwarming surprise to see so many loving faces and get to celebrate with our family of friends. The evening ended with a tranquil sunset, laughter, and smiles all around.
